The Firm's Lawyers
Most of the lawyers at McDowell Riga are licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania courts, and some are licensed in other states, as well. Our firm's attorneys are highly experienced in litigation and use their extensive trial experience to protect our clients' interests.
Attorney Ellen McDowell graduated from Rutgers University Law School, cum laude, in 1988 with a tax honors certificate. She has lectured on bankruptcy issues for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She is admitted to practice in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania courts.
Attorney Joseph F. Riga graduated from the Boston College Law School, cum laude, where he was the senior editor of the Boston College International and Comparative Law Review. He received his Master's Degree from the New York University School of Law in 1997. He is licensed to practice in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania courts.
Attorney Elissa W. Smith graduated from Willamette University College of Law in 2000. She is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania Courts.
Attorney Marybeth F. Baron graduated from Widener University School of Law in 1995. She served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Wayne G. Hummer, Jr., family law judge, in the Court of Common Pleas in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her practice has been dedicated almost exclusively to family law since 1995. She is also a Certified Mediator of family law matters, using her skills to help feuding parties find equitable and amicable solutions to their disputes. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey Courts.
Attorney Scott E. Kaminski graduated from Rutgers University Law School in 2007. He served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Thomas E. O'Brien P.J.Cv., Superior Court of New Jersey, and is admitted to practice in New Jersey courts.
